Stargazers

Moving in and out of it
Moving back and forth
The rough tough tumble
Of waves bouncing
Against the bow.

A moments recognition
A nighttime disposition
The water calls a world
Of poetry and
Words left unsaid.

Did I see you in that
Nighttime
Among the magic of
The stars
Or did I see you
Sail away?

The water splashes against
The boat like a
Long lost friend
Begging us to sail
Uncharted waters.

There is an easiness
About you
Like the calm of a
Quiet wake
But a bubbling underneath
Only waiting to
Be dared.

I wish I could go back
To our days of
Star gazing
When the world was
Full of
Possibility.

I wish I could go back
With all that I
Know now
I wish I could go back
with you.

bear it

in her midst, I can put it to rest
say goodnight to all my demons
but once she goes, the demons awake
to remind me who I am

they torture me, one by one
picking apart my soul
questioning every single bit of me

if i could think not
i would not
if i could be void of heart
if i could look to the
night sky and see
god among the stars

if i could feel the
presence of life in all
this dark and dreary
deadness

i suppose it's my
cross to bear
but i will not change
for you

i can not fit into
your white
world of
possibility.
